Urgent Measles Update: Five New Cases Across Aotearoa

Kia ora koutou,
There have been five (5) new confirmed measles cases. Of the 5, three are in Tāmaki Makaurau, one in Waikato and one in Dunedin.
Priority actions:
- Please remain vigilant for patients presenting with measles symptoms including fever, cough, and rash.
- Review your red stream (infection prevention and control) processes to ensure you can safely assess, manage and isolate anyone with suspected measles. For more guidance, review your local HealthPathways: Measles page. Find your local HealthPathways link Here.
- Check the immunisation status of your clinic staff and ensure they are protected.
- Review your local HealthPathways so all staff are clear on the processes for managing patients with measles symptoms.
New NHC Measles Webpage for Providers
We’ve launched a dedicated NHC Measles webpage to support clinical and operational responses. This page will be a central hub for the latest NHC and Mōhio updates, resources, and guidelines. We encourage all practices to bookmark this page and check it regularly.

Mōhio Measles Consult Claim Form
This form is used to claim for measles-related consults when directed by the National Public Health Service. Please familiarise yourself and staff with this form if you haven’t already done so.
